The I.F.H.D. is an organization that was formed January 23, 1988 by a group interested in preserving the Sport of Hunting with Dogs. I.F.H.D. works to conserve the States Resources so that future generations will have the pleasure of Hunting with Dogs in our Great Outdoors.

I.F.H.D. unites together a statewide organization of all voices of the different types of Hunting Dogs (Fox, Coon, Coyote, Bird, Beagles, Squirrel and Retrievers) in an effort to protect their interest in hunting with dogs. We work to educate the youth and the public of the possibilities of hunting. Develop better hunting relationship with the Landowners and Sportsmen. Cooperate with the Illinois Department of Natural Resources and the Legislators in securing laws that will protect our rights to Hunt and to Conserve the resources of this State. To cooperate with other States in developing a better working relationship on National issues.

I.F.H.D. has lobbyist in Springfield working to track Legislation that may effect our interest. Its very important to have a united front from all hunters with the way the Anti’s are attacking our rights to hunt. Don’t be mistaken, numbers mean everything in today’s Legislation. That’s why we need all hunters that want to protect and preserve the rights of all types of hunting to join.

The Illinois Federation of Hunting Dogs (I.F.H.D.) meets quarterly. We have a quest speaker at most of the meetings. Some of our past speakers have included several representatives from The Illinois Department of Natural Resources, Illinois State Rifle Association and other State representatives

The more members, the stronger our voice will be heard. Your help is needed - Your Membership is important !
